Tom and Gloria Giles started direct marketing vegetables in 1995 under the canopy of a local business at Grand Central Plaza. The following two to three years we worked from a portable wagon with a printed canvas covering in the Plaza's parking lot. People began to enjoy having fresh vegetables to purchase direct from the farm. After that, plans began to form to have a building where we could sell, rain or shine. Maple Valley Farm Market was built with lumber from our home farm, Maple Valley Farms. Tom is a fifth generation farmer, raising many crops for the Market. Starting the business in 2000, Maple Valley Farm Market now has five employees with a mission to build and sustain a Farm Market, which is customer oriented, innovative, and where quality, service and value are the hallmarks of every operation. Encouraging customers to taste the difference of all-natural beef and pork, Maple Valley Farm Market does not add hormones or growth enhancers and does not use antibiotics. We raise most of the feed for our livestock. Our cheeses, honey, maple syrup and fruits are from other local farms. Our baked goods are made from scratch, homemade crackers , dressings, sauces, jellies and jams are all sold at Maple Valley Farm Market. Seasonal offerings include those from the months of September through December with special order gift baskets available.
